Hyperbaric chambers have been a popular treatment for many forms of treatment for years. They are most commonly used as a healing technique for heart problems and have even been known to improve conditions related to hypertension, high blood pressure and high cholesterol. Research is still ongoing however and more evidence needs to be gathered before Hyperbaric Therapy for Autism is recommended.
I've recently read a study entitled "Are Hyperbaric Chambers Used For Autism Treatment Needed?" which is published in the March 2021 edition of Archives of Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine. In this study two groups of children with autism were compared. The first group was given placebo pills and the other was hyperbaric oxygen therapies or hyperbaric oxygen treatments (HBO).
Both groups of children were then given the Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy or HBO while they slept. The result? No differences were found in terms of the total number of autistic symptoms or in how long the symptoms lasted when comparing the two groups. The HBO group did show a slight improvement in several areas but that was it.
It would seem from this study that hyperbaric chamber treatments may help increase oxygen levels inside of the brain when given at the same time as HBO. It's unclear how this could work since the HBO would need to be ingested and would then need to go through the entire digestive process just like any other food or drug. It also means that hyperbaric chamber treatments may not be a suitable home therapy for children with Autism. That said there are home hyperbaric chamber treatments available but these tend to be over the counter or prescription only and are very expensive.
If you're looking for an alternative home use for hyperbaric chambers then you may be interested in physical therapy with hyperbaric oxygen therapy. There have been recent studies involving physical therapy with hyperbaric chambers and very promising results. The hyperbaric chamber treatment was used with physical therapists who were able to improve range of motion, balance, and body control. A number of patients even experienced partial paralysis after receiving physical therapy with hyperbaric chambers. Physical therapy with hyperbaric oxygen therapies is currently being used in numerous hospitals all around the world.
With home hyperbaric chamber treatments you may run into some challenges such as claustrophobia or fear of the dark. These are common concerns that can be handled by your therapist during your sessions. The hyperbaric chamber treatments work through a low level of pressurized air. There are also no artificial foods or odors which may be experienced with some other forms of hyperbaric chamber treatments.
Hyperbaric therapy is used for many different purposes such as rehabilitation, sports injuries, physical therapy, aerospace applications, and much more. It has been very useful for increasing overall health and healing. If you suffer from an injury or physical limitation, hyperbaric chambers can help you tremendously. Just imagine being able to move again, or having full use of your limbs again. This technology just may be exactly what you need to feel better and achieve your full potential.
If you are interested in receiving hyperbaric chamber treatments for your medical condition or any other purpose, then be sure to contact your local medical facility or hospital. Many hospitals even offer these portable hyperbaric chamber systems at their facilities for use by their patients. Ask your doctor or therapist which type of hyperbaric chamber system would be the most beneficial to your particular needs.
Perhaps the most amazing part about hyperbaric chambers is that they can be used for wound healing. Research has shown that hyperbaric oxygen treatments improve healing when combined with therapeutic massage. The combination of oxygen and heat speeds up cell metabolism, allowing for faster healing. This treatment has also shown to speed up the regeneration of damaged tissues.
With autism, the symptoms of autism often mimic those of various other conditions such as arthritis, cerebral palsy, cystic fibrosis, diabetes, and asthma. These hyperbaric oxygen therapies have been a welcome addition to the medical community for helping to treat patients suffering from such painful conditions. If you or a loved one suffers from one of these painful conditions, ask your doctor about using the hyperbaric chamber system. Don't let the day pass until you try hyperbaric oxygen therapies for yourself.
The Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) system is the most comprehensive, effective, and safest available technology for treating patients with autism, dementia, cerebral palsy and other diseases/illnesses. The hyperbaric chamber for home use has helped to treat many patients to tremendous results. If you or a loved one suffer from one of these painful conditions, I urge you to consult a doctor about hyperbaric chamber for home use.
